BENEVOLENCE

He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.   Proverbs 14:21

BENEVOLENCE MINISTRY PROGRAM

ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE:       Food, clothing, and financial aid for a variety of needs including utility, housing, food, medication, and other needs for extreme circumstances.  Assistance is determined on  a case-by-case basis.  Funding is limited to a maximum of $150 once every three months.

WHO MAY APPLY?                    Primary assistance goes to residents of Westlake and Mossville.  Assistance to people in outlying areas is assessed on an individual basis.  If the individual asking for assistance attends a church, we ask that their own church family attempt assisting with the need before we become involved.  We believe that this is an opportunity for their church family to be blessed by showing compassion and the love of the Lord by ministering to and meeting the needs of their own church family.

CONTACTING US:                      The person in need can pick up an application for assistance at the church office at 501 Sulphur Avenue, Westlake, LA  70669.  They may also call the office at (337) 439-5758.  Verification of situation may be required.

OTHER SERVICES:                     We have a Food Pantry and Food Vouchers available to those who express a need for food.  The pantry is at the church, and the $25 vouchers are for perishable items at Market Basket in Westlake.                                                 A Clothes Closet is also available to those who express a need for clothing.  These are good, used, clean clothes.  Clothes are available upon individual request as needed.  In addition, the Clothes Closet is open to the public on the third Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

How do you give?
